Today, an advocacy meeting was conducted to promote green technology in tourism destinations. Today (November 21, 2024), ASHIKA Development Associates organized the program with the assistance of the International Labour Organisation(ILO). The program was attended by the Honourable Chairman of RHDC, Mr. Kajal Talukder, as the Chief Guest, and The SP - Tourist Police, Mr. Nahid Adnan Taian, and the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Ms. Refat Asma, Rangamati Sadar, as special guests. Mr. Habib Azam, the member and convener of Tourism at RHDC, served as the program's president. History of ASHIKA

Building of Kaptai Hydro Electric Dam,  Refugee problem occurred due to Kaptai Dam Refusal by the State apparatus to negotiate dissidence which led to violence Constitutional identity related issues in CHT by the State Peace Accord 1997 Land Dispute Settlement issues

In these circumstances present “ASHIKA” came into being with its former name of “Hiran Mohan Computer and Research Academy for Tribal Languages (HCRATL)” in 1999 due to observation of socio-economic problem in the community. To survive in these situations our organization’s existence was appreciable to the unemployed youth who were literate but jobless, seeking for assistance but no reliable response. HCRATL provided computer training and consequently started research work on tribal language and ultimately provided language training in Rangamati Hill District which was consequently got initiation to other Hill Districts also.
